ANTHONY NISTOR // CLUB
// CLUB ACTIVITY

Club activity.

I take part in four clubs: robotics, computer programming, math, and FTC. What follows is the work in each one.

// ROBOTICS

Robotics Club

Curriculum Development & Interactive Technical Instructions

Interactive Lessons & Assembly (Stackr & Add-Ons)

Developed and delivered hands-on instructional modules guiding members through the mechanical assembly and electronic integration of the Stackr robotics platform and custom modular add-ons.

I recorded those lectures into tutorials for my RobotiX One business in this YouTube playlist:

YouTube RobotiX One - Tutorials

Motor Control & Actuation Lectures

Authored and presented technical workshops on DC motor control, covering PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation), motor drivers, closed-loop feedback, and speed/torque optimization for competition builds.

YouTube How to control Stackr's motors

RC Car Control Workshop

Authored and presented technical workshops on how to integrare RC controllers with any robotic application using Stackr platform.

YouTube Add an RC Controller to Stackr

Servo Control Workshop

Authored and presented technical workshops on servo motor control, covering PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation), angle control, and position control.

YouTube Digger (Stackr Add-On) Programming

ToF & LiDAR Sensing Workshops

Introduced advanced sensor integration by teaching the principles of Time-of-Flight (ToF) and LiDAR technologies for spatial awareness, obstacle avoidance, and precise distance measurement.

YouTube Lidar (Stackr Add-On) Programming

CAD Design & Modeling Lectures

Led CAD (Computer-Aided Design) training sessions using industry-standard 3D modeling software to teach members custom chassis design, structural analysis, and rapid prototyping for 3D printing.

Electronics Design & Collaborative Peer Contributions

KiCad PCB Design Seminars

Coordinated peer-led technical sessions on schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout using KiCad, enabling members to transition from breadboards to custom-printed circuit boards.

Competition Leadership, Sponsorships & Industry Outreach

In-House Competition Organization

Planned, designed, and executed internal robotics challenges and game fields to test hardware and software implementations under realistic competitive constraints.

Corporate & Academic Sponsorship Acquisition

Led outreach initiatives to pitch corporate sponsors and community organizations, successfully securing funding, hardware donations, and operational support.

RobotiX One Sponsorship

My business has provided a set of 10 Stackr kits, 10 Digger add-ons, 10 Lidar add-ons, 10 RC transmitters/receivers and other materials to the robotics club, facilitating the club's members to be hands-on with the Stackr platform.

Community Projects

Community-Focused Engineering Projects

The robotics club’s greatest achievement was empowering members to leverage the Stackr platform to design and build their own custom add-ons and independent projects.

Targeting System

A laser pointer aimed by a servo on Stackr.

Walking robot

Spider

Add legs to Stackr to allow it to handle non smooth surfaces. The robot can switch between two modes of moving: on wheels, on legs.

Web control of a phone camera on Stackr

Web Control

A phone on Stackr sending a vide stream to a web interface that can control the robot out of sight.

Competitive Programming Training

Coached club members on competitive programming techniques, problem-solving heuristics, and optimal data structure selection for speed and efficiency under time constraints.

Mentorship & Academic Support

Peer Mentorship & Code Review

Conducted weekly tutoring sessions and code reviews, helping junior programmers debug complex code, improve code structure, and master concepts from syntax to algorithm optimization.

// MATH

Math Club

Competitive Mathematics & Problem-Solving

Competition Training

As an active member of the Math Club, I focused on high-level competitive mathematics, preparing for and competing in regional and national contests. This experience honed my ability to dissect non-standard problems, formulate rigorous mathematical proofs, and apply abstract logic under time pressure.

Academic Mentorship & Outreach

Peer Tutoring Program

Led peer-tutoring sessions to support students in mastering challenging mathematical concepts, building confidence, and strengthening core analytical reasoning skills across all grade levels.

// FIRST TECH CHALLENGE

FTC

Mechanical & Structural Engineering Design

Led the full mechanical lifecycle of custom competition robots from concept to fabrication. Utilized 3D CAD software to model chassis architecture, drive trains, and manipulation mechanisms, utilizing rapid prototyping (3D printing, laser cutting) to optimize the robot's performance.

Physical Assembly & Fabrication

Hands-on builder responsible for precision assembly, mechanical power transmission (gears, belts, sprockets, and planetary gearboxes), wiring harness organization, and hardware integration under strict FTC size and weight constraints.

Competition Execution & Driver Strategy

Represented the team as a core drive team member and technician during FTC competitions. Adapted robot mechanisms and match strategy on-the-fly under high-pressure alliance environments.

Student Mentorship & Skill Development

Trained and mentored prospective and junior team members in mechanical assembly techniques, CAD fundamentals, workshop safety, and structured engineering documentation.

Sponsorship Acquisition & Team Sustainability

I successfully secured significant financial funding that covered the cost for motor controllers, remote control panels, motors, and other components, raw materials, and manufacturing support to sustain season budgets.
